So how do we do this?
Through Instagram
We have consistently been gaining an average of 50% email open rates from cold emails through this method by being relevant to our audiences.
Not only that, but we have also seen a high sales conversion rate purely from this cold email, without any sequencing/remarketing added to our sales funnel!
This was a strategy I used 2 years ago when I was selling a digital product
And it still works till today
How do we do this?
Step 1
Define your target audience and target hashtag
Make a list of all the hashtags used by your target audience
In this example, say you’re selling a fitness product
You would curate a list of all hashtags related to fitness
Step 2
Go to Instagram and search for this hashtag
Millions of results will be returned to you (hence never running out of leads)
Click into your desired hashtag, in this case, # fitness with over 397 million posts
Here you will have an endless feed of people and potential leads for your fitness product
Protip: The related hashtags here are a way to build your targeted hashtag lists
Next I will select a photo here at random
Here is her profile, censored some details for obvious reasons
And that email button is where you will find your first lead
Click that button and her email pops up 🙂
These are people who have declared their interest in fitness and have kindly left their email in their bio
Step 3
Copy that into an excel sheet
Rinse and repeat
And there you have it, a targeted email list
Plenty of people leave their email in their IG bio, check it out for yourself
Get a virtual assistant to do it if you don’t have the time to sift through IG but you can easily build a list this way for free.

This works for any niche, as long as the hashtag exists on Instagram, we can pull their emails 🙂
Closing Thoughts
This is a simple method to gather leads however there is much more backend work after gathering them.
You would need to clean out the emails to make sure it doesn’t bounce
And maintain a high email deliverability rate
Make sure to use a relevant email title to increase open rates, typically using the # you found them as a keyword helps
Don’t spam, make sure to have an unsubscribe button and allow them to opt-out
I never email the same lead twice unless they have responded to me
